Frequently Asked Questions

Google Workspace requires 5 MX records (ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM and four alternates), an SPF TXT record (v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all), and optionally DKIM and DMARC records. Enter your domain above and select Google Workspace to get all records ready to copy.

MX records are required for email to work. SPF is strongly recommended for deliverability. DKIM and DMARC are optional but significantly improve inbox placement and protect against spoofing. Verification TXT records are only needed during initial setup.

New DNS records typically propagate within 5–60 minutes for most resolvers. Records with high TTL values from a previous provider can take up to 48 hours to fully propagate. Use the DNS Propagation Checker to monitor progress.

For MX records, no — you can only have one set of MX records pointing to one provider at a time. For SPF, you must merge all services into a single TXT record (e.g., v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com include:sendgrid.net ~all). DKIM records can coexist since they use different selector subdomains.
